Files management

Here are the operations where the setups can be saved or loaded and the system software changed.

  1. Load your setup

Any setups saved to the PC disk can be retrieved using Load Setup. This includes the sample setups included with Autopilot II. Upon power up, any setup existing in the Controller is sent to the PC so the setup can be examined for completeness. Any comments from the previous setup will appear in the setup notes window. These comments could be used to tell you the last time or place the Autopilot was used. If the setup is different, the Load Setup will restore the controller to the configuration saved on disk. After loading your setup, the setup file name will appear in the menu bar of Autopilot II.

  2. Save your setup

The current setup can be saved to disk on your PC. It is handy to include a date reference in the filename such as: Tomlin110100.ap2. The setup is also saved in the Autopilot Controller.

  3. New setup

This will load a blank setup into Autopilot II. Doing so will cause all information stored (in the controller) to be lost. Before doing this function, saving the current setup is a good idea.

  4. Delete setup

As your file directory becomes larger and larger this function will allow you to delete files you no longer need.

  5. Get a new light model

Light models are now portable in Autopilot II. This means the models are available on the web or on disc. They are available from Wybron at the web site: http://www.wybron.com/products/Autopilot_II/ or simply link here .

As new models are introduced, the characteristics will be put into the Autopilot Light Model Library for easy distribution. This open standard model may also be available from other users and moving light manufacturers. You may also edit and create your own light models.
